Content pipeline

Updated 2026-11-03

Content pipeline

The catalog is content, not code. The kit provides tools to import, enrich and audit it.

Import

php artisan animalia:content:import

The importer works in chunks and supports large catalogs. Check the command help for the accepted input format and options.

Profiles and taxonomy

php artisan animalia:content:profile-backfill
php artisan animalia:content:profile-audit
php artisan animalia:content:rarity-audit
  • profile-backfill creates profile rows and taxonomy shells.
  • profile-audit reports completeness, taxonomy and SEO indexability.
  • rarity-audit reports the rarity distribution per gameplay group.

Encyclopedia enrichment

The optional enrichment pipeline uses GBIF, Wikipedia and Wikidata for taxonomy, overview, conservation and range data, with source and license tracking.

php artisan animalia:content:fetch --help

The command is preview-only by default and writes only with --execute. Review the license and attribution fields before publishing content.

Education and sources

Educational explanations must identify sources and uncertainty. Keep scientific facts separate from gameplay modifiers. The admin Scientific Sources area supports review states, evidence and approval.

Media

php artisan animalia:media:import

Imports generated card images into the media gallery and links them to collectibles. The admin media editor is non-destructive: edits create a new media row with the operations recorded.

AI (optional)

  • Local Ollama for prose (gemma3 or the configured model).
  • Stable Diffusion Forge for card art.
  • rembg for background removal.

AI is optional and local. Nothing is sent to a paid external service by default.

Content rules

  • Version content and rules.
  • Publish only reviewed content.
  • Keep licenses and attribution.
  • Mark incomplete pages noindex until they have enough content.
  • Use translation keys for user-visible strings.
